Getting started
How do I start home care?
Simply call us, message us on WhatsApp or fill in the contact form. If you already have a prescription, we take care of the rest. If not, we help you get one from your doctor. A nurse then visits you at home to assess your needs and set up your care plan.
Do I need a medical prescription?
For examinations and treatment (injections, dressings, blood tests, infusions…), yes: you need a medical prescription. It is valid for up to 9 months and can be renewed. Since 1 July 2024, assessment, advice and basic care can be provided without a prescription; we nevertheless always work closely with your doctor. Shifts, escorts and daily help (on quote) do not require one.
How quickly can you start?
We arrange the first visit as quickly as possible, including at weekends for hospital discharges. For services on quote, you receive a free proposal within 24 to 48 hours.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover the whole canton of Geneva, in the city and the surrounding municipalities, as well as neighbouring France. Please note: cantonal funding is reserved for people living in Geneva, and coverage of home care in France depends on your insurance (LAMal or French CPAM). Get in touch and we will check your situation with you.
Coverage & rates
How much will care cost me?
With a medical prescription, care is paid for by your basic health insurance (at federal rates) and by the canton of Geneva. You pay a contribution of CHF 10 per day of care, plus your usual insurance deductible and co-payment. No surcharge can be added. Details on the rates page.
What is the CHF 10 daily contribution?
It is the contribution to care costs provided for by federal law (art. 25a LAMal) and set in Geneva by the Council of State at CHF 10 per day since 1 January 2025. It is due only once per day of care, even if several nurses visit. Acute and transitional care is exempt.
Are shifts, housework and escorts covered?
Generally not: these services are not covered by basic insurance. Some supplementary plans contribute, so check with your insurer. We send you a free, detailed quote within 24 to 48 hours.
What is acute and transitional care?
This is care prescribed by the hospital (jointly by a doctor and a nurse) when you are discharged, for a maximum of 2 weeks. It is funded like a hospital stay, mostly by the canton, and is exempt from the CHF 10 daily contribution.
Care
Do you provide mental health care at home?
Yes. A nurse experienced in psychiatric care can support you at home: supportive conversations, treatment follow-up, relapse prevention and coming home after a hospital stay. This care is covered by basic insurance with a medical prescription. We are not an emergency service: if there is any danger, call 144.
Will my family be told about my mental health care?
No, not without your consent. We are bound by professional secrecy. If you wish, we can involve a loved one in your care and give them advice.
Is my doctor kept informed?
Yes. We work closely with your GP and send them regular updates on your health. When they are unavailable, our lead doctor supports the team.
Will it always be the same nurse?
We deliberately limit the number of nurses who visit each patient. You receive a weekly schedule with your nurses’ names and visit times.
What happens at night and at weekends?
Our team is available 7 days a week, all year round. An on-call system covers days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
Practical
